What is the current VALORANT Act?
Season 2026 Act 4 is current as of August 17, 2026. Riot launched it with Patch 13.00 on June 24. The patch introduced Summit to the Competitive map rotation, added Retake, and adjusted ranked-rating calculations.
The client timer points to August 19 for Act 5. That is the best practical deadline for finishing the Act 4 Battlepass, but maintenance can make the exact hour differ by region. We will mark Act 5 as current only after Riot's launch patch is live.
How VALORANT's Episode system changed
Episodes 1–9 each contained three Acts and usually covered about six months. A new Episode was the larger competitive checkpoint, while Acts handled Battlepass cycles, rank displays, and regular content releases.
V25 and V26 use the calendar year as the season label. Each year is divided into six Acts rather than two separately named Episodes. Players still call these “episodes” in searches and conversation, but Riot's current patch notes use labels such as V26 Act 4.
What changes when a VALORANT Act ends?
- Battlepass: the current pass closes, so unfinished tiers do not carry forward.
- Act Rank: a new Act Rank record begins. The badge tracks your wins and peak rank for that Act.
- Competitive placement: a normal Act transition is lighter than the larger seasonal reset. Riot can change the exact placement requirement, so follow the current client prompt.
- Content: map rotations, agents, modes, and balance changes usually arrive with the launch patch, but not every Act contains a new agent or map.
If the rank display itself is confusing, see how to show or hide your Act Rank. For the reward tied to your peak competitive rank, we also explain how VALORANT rank buddies work.
VALORANT Act and season FAQ
When does the current VALORANT Act end?
The in-game timer places the Season 2026 Act 4 rollover on August 19, 2026. Riot had not posted a separate official end-date article as of August 17, so check the client for your region's exact countdown.
How long is a VALORANT Act?
Most Acts last roughly seven to nine weeks, but there is no fixed length. Riot has run shorter and longer Acts when its patch or release calendar required it.
How many VALORANT Acts have there been?
There were 27 Acts across Episodes 1–9, six Acts in Season 2025, and four started Acts in Season 2026 as of August 17. That makes Act 4 the 37th live Act since launch.
Do VALORANT Acts always start on the same day worldwide?
The content release is global, but maintenance windows and time zones mean the playable transition can appear on different calendar dates. This page uses the standard published date and notes uncertain future dates clearly.
Sources and update policy
Current-season details were checked against Riot's Patch 12.00 notes, Patch 13.00 notes, and the official VALORANT patch archive. Future rows are added only when their Act begins or Riot confirms them.
The naming changed, but the practical rhythm did not: each Act is a fresh Battlepass and competitive checkpoint. Use the table for confirmed history and the client timer for the closest regional deadline.
