
Angle snapping is mouse prediction that straightens part of your physical movement before VALORANT receives it. It is not a VALORANT setting, and for competitive mouse aim the safer baseline is to leave it off: the correction can suppress the small vertical adjustment you intended while tracking or moving between head heights.
Some mouse firmware calls the feature angle tuning, prediction, or line correction. If your mouse supports it, use only the manufacturer's official app or onboard setting—do not install an unknown input tool to add it.

A mouse sensor captures a path made from many tiny changes on two axes. With raw tracking, those changes reach the computer as measured. Angle snapping applies a prediction algorithm and adjusts the path toward a line it thinks you meant to draw.
Suppose you move right while your hand also rises slightly. With prediction off, the cursor reflects both motions. With stronger prediction, the mouse may flatten part of that rise. A straight swipe can look cleaner, but the software cannot know whether the vertical movement was accidental or the correction you needed.
The result depends on the mouse and its implementation. There is no universal “strength 5” or one behavior shared by Logitech, Razer, SteelSeries, Pulsar, Corsair, and other devices.
For most players using a mouse, no. VALORANT fights demand controlled horizontal placement and fast vertical corrections across elevation changes, crouches, jumps, recoil, and utility. Prediction that cleans one axis can make a diagonal micro-adjustment feel inconsistent.
Angle snapping also trains you around a processed path. If you change mice, switch profiles, or disable the feature, the same hand motion may no longer land at the same place. A stable DPI and sensitivity with prediction off gives you a clearer baseline for practice.
If a motor limitation or hand tremor makes a mild correction useful, test it deliberately rather than accepting a blanket recommendation. Compare hit control and comfort across several practice sessions, keep the setting documented, and remember that straighter is not automatically more accurate.
If the official manual and app do not show the option, the mouse may not offer a user-configurable control. That is not a problem; many gaming mice are designed for uncorrected tracking by default.

The goal is not to make the Paint lines look attractive. It is to learn whether the sensor is rewriting motion and whether that processing makes actual two-axis corrections less predictable.

Riot removed the PC RawInputBuffer toggle in Patch 11.06 and made it always enabled. That setting change does not switch angle snapping on, nor does it expose an angle-snapping control inside VALORANT.
You cannot turn it on in VALORANT because the game has no angle-snapping option. If a supported mouse exposes the feature, it will be in the manufacturer's official device settings.
It can make a horizontal line look steadier, but that is not the same as better target acquisition. In an FPS, the correction may ignore a vertical micro-movement you intended, so most players get a more dependable training baseline with it disabled.
A normal prediction option built into official mouse firmware is not an aimbot and does not identify targets. That does not make every third-party input program safe. Avoid injectors, macros, automation, or tools that alter game behavior; if a particular tool's status is uncertain, do not use it and ask Riot Support.
