The Techrot Encore update in Warframe introduced a bunch of powerful new weapons, and the Dual Viciss quickly stood out as a top-tier melee choice. These twin scythes, used by the Scaldra, come with great base stats, high critical chance, and innate Gas damage—making them perfect for cutting down large groups of enemies fast. In this guide, we’ll break down exactly how to get your hands on the Dual Viciss and how to build it for maximum damage. Whether you’re going for a status-heavy setup or just want to tear through crowds in style, this weapon has huge potential for endgame content.
To get your hands on the Dual Viciss, you’ll first need to reach Rank 5 with the Hex Syndicate, the primary faction tied to Warframe 1999 content. Once you’re maxed out, head over to Minerva in the Hollvania hub—she’s the vendor who sells all the blueprints you’ll need for the weapon. Instead of crafting the components from blueprints like most weapons, you’ll be gathering the actual parts—specifically, two blades and two hilts—and combining them to complete the weapon. Most of the materials required can be found through regular Star Chart missions or by diving into 1999-specific content. Here’s what you’ll need:
• 2x Dual Viciss Blades
• 2x Dual Viciss Hilts
• Credits: 20,000
• Build Time: 12 Hours
Once everything’s ready, craft it in your Foundry and you’ll be slashing through enemies in no time.
The Dual Viciss may look like scythes, but they’re officially classified as Dual Swords in Warframe. Their base stats make them a standout melee weapon, with 255 total base damage split between Puncture (51), Slash (51), and a massive chunk of innate Gas damage (153). They also boast a solid 23% Critical Chance, 2.1x Crit Multiplier, and a strong 29% Status Chance. Their attack speed clocks in at 1.0, and they come with a 2.4-meter range and a 40% follow-through. You’ll need to hit Mastery Rank 14 to wield them.
What really makes the Dual Viciss shine is their unique passive. Every time you apply a Gas status effect, you gain a stacking movement and attack speed buff—up to 40% bonus movement speed and 35% more attack speed at max stacks. This turns them into a high-speed blender in combat. To get the most out of them, mod for high status chance and Gas damage, and toss on an attack speed mod like Berserker’s Fury. You can also experiment with Electric damage to take advantage of status spread effects from perks like Melee Influence. Overall, Dual Viciss are a deadly blend of speed, status, and power.
Let’s dive into an endgame setup for the Dual Viciss that turns them into a true crowd-clearing machine. This build is built around the power of the Melee Influence Arcane, which spreads status effects to nearby enemies—perfect for the Dual Viciss’ natural Gas damage and high status chance. With the right setup, you’ll be chaining toxic explosions across entire groups in seconds.
If you don’t have Melee Influence unlocked yet, no worries. You can swap out the Electric damage mod for something else that fits your playstyle—like another elemental mod to create Viral, or a combo-focused option like Blood Rush or Weeping Wounds. The core idea is simple: lean into Gas, stack status effects fast, and let the Arcane do the rest. With their passive buffing your speed on every Gas proc, you’ll be flying through enemies in no time.
For this build, we’re leaning fully into status stacking and AoE damage, turning the Dual Viciss into a spinning death machine perfect for clearing waves in high-level content. At the core of this setup is Melee Influence, which spreads all applied status effects to enemies within a 19-meter radius. To activate it, we’ve added Voltaic Strike, giving the weapon Electric damage while also boosting status chance.
To push our status output even higher, Weeping Wounds ramps up status chance as your combo builds, and Galvanized Elementalist grants a big status chance boost on kills. Blood Rush pairs with this by scaling crit chance with combo count, and Galvanized Steel stacks that bonus even further. Since most of your actual damage will come from status effects, Condition Overload is a no-brainer—it increases melee damage for each status effect on the enemy, multiplying your output in seconds.
We’ve also included a Smite mod (like Smite Grineer, Smite Corpus, etc.) to take advantage of their double-dipping mechanics with status damage-over-time effects. Not into faction mods? You can easily swap that slot for more crit damage, base damage, or even Berserker’s Fury if you want to go all-in on speed and responsiveness. With this setup, the Dual Viciss become a fast, fluid, and toxic blender capable of tearing through any content in the game.
The Dual Viciss stand out as one of Warframe’s most powerful and stylish melee weapons, especially when built around Gas and status effects. With the right mods and a focus on attack speed, status chance, and AoE synergy, these dual blades can tear through high-level content with ease. Whether you’re farming Steel Path or just want a fast-paced melee playstyle that melts enemies in seconds, the Dual Viciss are absolutely worth crafting and investing Forma into.
