Marvel Rivals Seasons: All Start And End Dates

Marvel Rivals Seasons: All Start And End Dates

AI Summary

Marvel Rivals is currently in Season 9.5, the second half of The Mystery of Thebes. Season 9 began on July 10, 2026, and the midseason update launched on August 7 with The Hood. NetEase has not officially announced Season 9's end date or a Season 10 launch date, so September 11 should be treated as an event deadline—not a confirmed new-season date.

Every Marvel Rivals season start and end date

The table uses one row per full season. The midseason column keeps every .5 update visible without pretending it is a separate full season. NetEase usually announces start dates more clearly than end dates, so an end marked next-start boundary means the season ended when the next officially dated season began; it was not separately announced as an end date.

Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 roadmap: live, completed and upcoming

This roadmap separates releases that already happened from content that is still active and dates that are merely approaching. It does not turn a store or event deadline into a Season 10 announcement.

  • July 23: Thebes released as a Convoy map.
  • July 30: Path to Doomsday: Avengers: Age of Ultron launched; it was not available on PS4 at release.
  • August 7: Season 9.5 and The Hood went live with a large balance pass.
  • August 27: the latest live patch delivered fixes and prepared Endgame Encore.

  • Season 9.5 with Jubilee and The Hood in the live roster.
  • Endgame Encore: August 28 at 02:00 UTC through September 11 at 09:00 UTC.

  • Season 10: no official date, hero, title, map or Battle Pass has been announced.

What Season 9 added: heroes, Thebes, modes and Battle Pass

Jubilee and The Hood

Jubilee joined at the full-season launch as a Strategist whose kit can heal allies, damage enemies and manipulate a fight with marks and mobility. Her launch made Season 9's new Team-Up structure immediately relevant. The current Jubilee guide covers her live ability values and August 7 buff without duplicating them here.

The Hood arrived on August 7 as a Vanguard. His Season 9.5 release brought portal-based space control, Demonic Energy management and new Team-Up interactions. For the full kit, practical rotations and counters, use the dedicated The Hood gameplay guide.

Thebes and Path to Doomsday

Thebes went live on July 23 at 09:00 UTC as a Convoy map built around Apocalypse's Pyramid and the Temple of Khonshu. That official UTC release is one day earlier than several articles that use the July 24 store reset as the map date.

Path to Doomsday: Avengers: Age of Ultron followed on July 30 at 09:00 UTC as a PvE mode. NetEase's launch note specifically said the mode was unavailable on PS4. Blood Hunt also remained part of the season and later received extensions through October.

Faith-Harvesting Engine Battle Pass

Season 9's Battle Pass is the Faith-Harvesting Engine. The official launch notes list ten costumes, including Deadpool — Dead Mummy, Elsa Bloodstone — Primal Predator and Rocket Raccoon — Golden Artificer. A purchased Luxury Battle Pass does not expire, but you cannot assume every old pass remains permanently available to buy; NetEase handles returns through separate announcements.

Competitive and Team-Up changes

The Season 9 launch replaced the earlier Team-Up structure with a ground-up revamp and reworked Black Widow. The official July 10 notes also set Jubilee — Crimson Crown as the Gold-rank reward. Season 9.5 then adjusted a wide group of heroes and Team-Ups, including changes to Peni Parker, Rogue, Venom, Moon Knight, Wolverine, Jubilee and White Fox.

Do not confuse a seasonal rank reward with the separate Marvel Rivals Season Bonus mechanic. If you are choosing when to queue rather than tracking dates, the Competitive mode guide is the more useful next read.

What is confirmed about the next Marvel Rivals season?

Nothing specific has been officially announced for Season 10 as of August 28, 2026. NetEase has not published a confirmed start date, title, launch hero, map, Battle Pass or complete Season 10 roadmap on the official news pages reviewed for this article.

Officially confirmedSeason 9.5 is live; several current events have dated end times; Blood Hunt continues into October.
Reasonable expectationThe recent cadence suggests another major seasonal update after the current cycle, but cadence is not a release announcement.
Deliberately excludedRumored heroes, datamined themes, unverified Season 10 dates and assumed 09:00 UTC launch times.

The safest way to track the next reveal is the official Marvel Rivals news feed. This page will move a date into the confirmed schedule only after an original official announcement or patch note supports it.

How Marvel Rivals full seasons and .5 updates work

A full numbered season establishes the theme, launches a hero, opens a Battle Pass and usually makes the larger system or Competitive changes. The .5 update is the second half of that same season. It commonly adds another hero and balance pass, but it does not create a new full-season title.

The cadence has changed over time. Season 1 and Season 2 each lasted about 13 weeks, while Seasons 3 through 8 averaged roughly 61 days—about eight to nine weeks. Individual halves have ranged from four to seven weeks. Treat that history as planning context, not a promise.

Does rank reset at a .5 update?

Not automatically. Season 1.5's official notes explicitly said players retained their ranks from the first half, even though its reward settlement was split. Other seasons have used placement matches, division adjustments or different reward rules. Read the patch note for the specific update instead of applying one universal reset rule. The Season 9.5 patch did not announce a full rank reset.

What carries over?

  • Heroes and owned cosmetics: stay on the account; seasonal content does not remove normal ownership.
  • Purchased Luxury Battle Passes: remain accessible for later redemption, although Chrono Token settlement rules still apply.
  • Competitive progress: follows the settlement or placement rules stated for that season.
  • Events and limited modes: close at their published deadlines unless NetEase announces an extension.

Marvel Rivals season history, from Season 0 to Season 9

Season 0: Doom's Rise

Marvel Rivals launched globally on December 6, 2024. NetEase described Season 0 as a one-month opening season; it ran for 35 days before Season 1 began. Its shorter Battle Pass and original Competitive ladder established the systems later seasons expanded.

Season 1: Eternal Night Falls

Season 1 launched Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman on January 10, 2025, then added The Thing and Human Torch on February 21. Midtown, Sanctum Sanctorum and Central Park carried the Dracula storyline across the full 91-day season. Season 1.5 is also the clearest official example of a midseason update retaining rank.

Season 2: Hellfire Gala

Emma Frost opened the Hellfire Gala on April 11, 2025. Ultron arrived with Season 2.5 on May 30, while the map story moved from Krakoa to Arakko. The full season lasted 91 days, matching Season 1's longer early cadence.

Season 3: The Abyss Awakens

Phoenix launched on July 11, 2025, followed by Blade on August 8. The Klyntar storyline brought Celestial Husk and later Throne of Knull with Resource Rumble. Season 3 marked the shift toward the shorter eight-to-nine-week full seasons that followed.

Season 4: Heart of the Dragon

Angela arrived on September 12, 2025, and Daredevil followed on October 10. K'un-Lun: Heart of Heaven, Jade Scrolls and the Fruit of Immortality Battle Pass anchored the mystical martial-arts theme.

Season 5: Love is a Battlefield

Gambit opened Season 5 on November 14, 2025, with Rogue joining on December 12. Grand Garden and the 100-player Times Square social space broadened the season beyond standard combat maps, while rank-reward handling received new rules.

Season 6: Night at the Museum

Deadpool arrived on January 16, 2026, alongside Museum of Contemplation and the Museum Ticket Battle Pass. Elsa Bloodstone followed on February 13 with Season 6.5 and its monster-hunting content.

Season 7: The Hunt is On

White Fox launched on March 20, 2026, and Black Cat arrived April 17. Season 7 made Competitive changes especially visible by introducing ten placement matches and a three-ban-per-team format. It also tied the live game more closely to Ignite esports coverage.

Season 8: Sins of Alchemax

Devil Dinosaur joined on May 15, 2026, with the Project: Heroic Age Battle Pass. Cyclops followed on June 12. Season 8.5 added K'un-Lun: Shenloong Arena and 18v18 Bounty Annihilation. The current Devil Dinosaur guide covers how that launch Vanguard changed after the Season 9.5 balance pass.

Season 9: The Mystery of Thebes

Jubilee, the Team-Up overhaul, Black Widow's rework, Faith-Harvesting Engine and the Apocalypse mystery launched July 10, 2026. Thebes followed July 23, Path to Doomsday arrived July 30, and The Hood began the 9.5 half on August 7. As of August 28, Season 9 remains live and its official end date is unknown.

Marvel Rivals season dates FAQ

What is the current Marvel Rivals season?

Season 9.5 is live. It is the midseason half of Season 9: The Mystery of Thebes and began August 7, 2026, with The Hood.

When does Marvel Rivals Season 9 end?

NetEase has not officially announced an exact end date. September 11 is attached to the Endgame Encore deadline, not an official Season 10 launch announcement. Blood Hunt is currently scheduled into October.

When does Marvel Rivals Season 10 start?

There is no confirmed Season 10 release date as of August 28, 2026. Any exact date circulating without an original NetEase announcement should be treated as expected or reported, not official.

How long is a Marvel Rivals season?

Recent completed seasons have usually lasted about eight to nine weeks, split around the midpoint by a .5 update. The early Season 1 and Season 2 cycles were longer, so there is no fixed duration you should treat as guaranteed.

Do Marvel Rivals Battle Passes expire?

A purchased Luxury Battle Pass remains available to complete later. Chrono Tokens still follow settlement rules, and an old pass is not necessarily available to purchase after its season unless NetEase announces a return.

Does every midseason add a hero?

Every .5 update from Season 1.5 through Season 9.5 has added at least one hero, but that history is not a permanent guarantee. Only future official patch notes can confirm the next release.
