Jubilee joined at the full-season launch as a Strategist whose kit can heal allies, damage enemies and manipulate a fight with marks and mobility. Thebes and Path to Doomsday
Thebes went live on July 23 at 09:00 UTC as a Convoy map built around Apocalypse's Pyramid and the Temple of Khonshu. That official UTC release is one day earlier than several articles that use the July 24 store reset as the map date.
Path to Doomsday: Avengers: Age of Ultron followed on July 30 at 09:00 UTC as a PvE mode. NetEase's launch note specifically said the mode was unavailable on PS4. Blood Hunt also remained part of the season and later received extensions through October.
Faith-Harvesting Engine Battle Pass
Season 9's Battle Pass is the Faith-Harvesting Engine. The official launch notes list ten costumes, including Deadpool — Dead Mummy, Elsa Bloodstone — Primal Predator and Rocket Raccoon — Golden Artificer. A purchased Luxury Battle Pass does not expire, but you cannot assume every old pass remains permanently available to buy; NetEase handles returns through separate announcements.
Competitive and Team-Up changes
The Season 9 launch replaced the earlier Team-Up structure with a ground-up revamp and reworked Black Widow. The official July 10 notes also set Jubilee — Crimson Crown as the Gold-rank reward. How Marvel Rivals full seasons and .5 updates work
A full numbered season establishes the theme, launches a hero, opens a Battle Pass and usually makes the larger system or Competitive changes. The .5 update is the second half of that same season. It commonly adds another hero and balance pass, but it does not create a new full-season title.
The cadence has changed over time. Season 1 and Season 2 each lasted about 13 weeks, while Seasons 3 through 8 averaged roughly 61 days—about eight to nine weeks. Individual halves have ranged from four to seven weeks. Treat that history as planning context, not a promise.
Does rank reset at a .5 update?
Not automatically. Season 1.5's official notes explicitly said players retained their ranks from the first half, even though its reward settlement was split. Season 0: Doom's Rise
Marvel Rivals launched globally on December 6, 2024. NetEase described Season 0 as a one-month opening season; it ran for 35 days before Season 1 began. Its shorter Battle Pass and original Competitive ladder established the systems later seasons expanded.
Season 1: Eternal Night Falls
Season 1 launched Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman on January 10, 2025, then added The Thing and Human Torch on February 21.
