A VALORANT weapon skin is normally refundable only when it is unused, still at its base level, and was purchased within the last 14 days. Taking the equipped skin into a match or upgrading it with Radianite makes it used.
Riot’s rules are stricter than many players expect. Inspecting a skin in the store is fine; entering a loading screen with it equipped, unlocking an upgrade, or buying it as part of a bundle can change the answer.

What “used” means for a VALORANT skin
Riot treats a weapon skin as used once you reach a match loading screen with the content equipped. That includes custom games and practice modes. Upgrading the skin also counts as use, even if you never queue a normal match.
How to request a VALORANT refund
- Open Riot’s official VALORANT refund support page and sign in to the Riot account that made the purchase.
- Load your purchase history or the refund tool.
- Find the eligible unused purchase and select the refund option.
- If the purchase does not appear but you believe it meets the policy, submit a Player Support ticket with the purchase date and item name.
- Allow time for Riot to remove the content and return the applicable currency or payment.
Never use a chargeback as a shortcut. Riot’s policy says a chargeback can lead to content removal or a negative VP balance if the content cannot be removed.
