Clash Royale does not expose a PC-style graphics menu with separate texture, shadow, resolution and effects controls. The best setup is therefore to keep the game and operating system current, use your phone's native or automatic refresh-rate mode, avoid thermal throttling, and change only the performance options that actually appear on your device. If a setting named in another guide is absent from your build, it cannot be enabled manually.

| Control | Competitive setup | Battery setup | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display refresh rate | High or Adaptive | Standard or Adaptive | Higher refresh can make animation and touch response feel smoother, but uses more power. |
| Phone battery saver | Off while playing | On only if it does not cap performance excessively | Some phones reduce CPU or screen refresh when power saving is active. |
| Brightness | Comfortable, not maximum | Low to medium | Maximum brightness adds heat and battery drain without improving network latency. |
| Game dashboard | Performance or Balanced | Balanced | Device-specific modes can prioritize sustained performance, but labels vary. |
| Notifications and overlays | Do Not Disturb | Do Not Disturb | Prevents pop-ups and accidental gesture interruptions. |
Supercell can alter the options shown to different hardware through game updates. Open the menu button, choose Settings, and work only with the controls visible there. On many current phones, visual quality is managed automatically rather than through a manual Low–Ultra selector.

Do not install a configuration app or modified APK to unlock hidden graphics. Apart from the security risk, unsupported clients can violate Supercell's rules. If the game itself offers a performance, battery or high-frame-rate option on your device, select it based on the presets below and recheck heat after several matches.
Use High or Adaptive refresh rate, disable the phone's aggressive battery saver, enable Do Not Disturb, and close a resource-heavy game or video app before queuing. Keep brightness below maximum and remove a thick insulating case if the phone becomes hot. A higher refresh mode is useful only when the device can sustain it.
Adaptive refresh, normal brightness and the phone's Balanced game mode are the sensible default. This avoids unnecessary battery drain while retaining clear animations. Leave visual accessibility options at values that make units and elixir easy to read.
Use Standard refresh rate, reduce brightness, stop charging during long sessions if the device becomes hot, and restart the phone if memory pressure persists. Keep free storage available for game updates. If the phone repeatedly closes the game or cannot install a supported build, settings cannot compensate for unsupported hardware.
Animations stutter, the phone becomes hot, menus hitch, or the operating system reports low memory. Lower power demand and cool the device.
The red Wi-Fi symbol appears, troops deploy late despite smooth animation, or matches reconnect. Test another stable network; graphics changes will not fix this.
Avoid switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data in the middle of a match. If your network is shared, large downloads and cloud backups can create latency spikes even when the game looks smooth.
Graphics will not replace match knowledge. Once the game is stable, the Clash Royale beginner guide explains elixir and defense, while the trophy-pushing guide covers deck and replay decisions. You can also use the current name-change instructions without confusing account settings with graphics controls.
Some device and game-version combinations can present smoother high-refresh output, but a 120 Hz panel does not guarantee that the game renders every frame at 120 FPS. Use the modes your current device officially exposes.
No. Lower rendering load may reduce stutter, but ping is network delay. A stable nearby connection matters more for troop-deployment latency.
Manufacturer game modes can reduce notifications or prioritize performance, but their behavior varies. Use Balanced or Performance only if it does not overheat the phone, alter colors badly or block required notifications.
Device behavior was checked against the current Clash Royale mobile build, official Supercell distribution channels, and current Android and iOS display and power controls on August 27, 2026. The recommendations are updated when Supercell adds a universal in-game graphics control or changes device support.
