For general Steel Path play, a Coda hybrid setup with an Electricity Valence Bonus and Melee Influence offers the strongest crowd-clear identity. A heavy-attack setup is more deliberate and fun, but the lingering pool is utility rather than a fully scaling damage engine.

Original Caustacyst
Research the blueprint in a clan Dojo's Bio Lab after its prerequisite research is complete. Buying and crafting one personal copy requires:

Coda Caustacyst
- Unlock the Technocyte Coda system and create a Coda adversary.
- Complete Malware Disinfection and the Earth Proxima showdown.
- Choose Vanquish to receive at least 10 Live Heartcells. Converting does not provide the weapon currency.
- Visit Eleanor in Höllvania Central Mall when Batch B is active.
- Spend 10 Live Heartcells on the current Coda Caustacyst offer.
Eleanor alternates weapon batches every four days at 00:00 UTC. Each offer rolls its own element and bonus percentage; it is not determined by the Warframe that created the Coda. Coda weapons can reach rank 40 by applying five Forma, two ranks at a time, and duplicate copies can improve the bonus through Valence Fusion.

Caustacyst heavy-attack build
For a wave-focused playstyle, start with Sacrificial Pressure, Sacrificial Steel, Amalgam Organ Shatter, Killing Blow, Corrupt Charge, Melee Elementalist, and two flex elemental or faction slots. The Coda variant benefits more because 19% base crit and a 2.3× multiplier give the heavy swing a stronger foundation.
Aim the heavy attack down a corridor or through a group. The Corrosive wave has long reach and punch-through, then leaves a pool that staggers enemies. Reach mods affect the blade's normal range but not the wave distance.
Limitation: the acid pool does not inherit every piece of ordinary melee scaling. Treat it as setup, stagger, and area denial; your direct blade hits and initial wave carry the serious damage. This is why the combo/Influence configuration is usually the more reliable general build.
