TFT Patch Schedule 2026: All Dates and Updates

The current TFT patch is 18.1, which launched Set 18: Enchanted Wilds on August 26, 2026. The next scheduled update is Patch 18.2 on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Teamfight Tactics normally gets a full patch about every two weeks, with smaller changes between releases when needed.

Last verified: September 6, 2026. Dates below follow Riot’s official TFT calendar in Pacific Time; future releases remain scheduled, not guaranteed.

Every scheduled TFT patch in 2026

This calendar contains 25 official entries: 24 full patches and the scheduled 18.6B update. A dash means no separate milestone is listed here—not that the patch has no changes. Released patches link to their official notes; future notes are left unlinked until Riot publishes them.

• 16.5 date distinction: the annual calendar lists February 18. Riot’s 16.5 patch notes say the patch would go live a day later, on Thursday, for most servers: February 19. The table preserves the published schedule; it does not imply every region deployed on February 18.
• 18.3 weekday correction: September 23, 2026 is a Wednesday. Riot’s calendar currently attaches “Thursday” to that date. We retain the date, not the inconsistent weekday.
• Schedule changes: no row is labeled Rescheduled without a verified change notice. Recheck Riot’s calendar before planning around an upcoming release.

What is live now, and what comes next?

Patch 18.1 is the first Enchanted Wilds patch—not 17.9. Riot’s 17.9 notes identify that update as the last dedicated Space Gods patch and point to the August 26 Set 18 launch. Space Gods remaining playable alongside Enchanted Wilds on PC does not change the current set’s version number.

Patch 18.2 is scheduled for September 10. Its date is confirmed on the calendar, but its balance details should not be treated as final before the official notes appear. The schedule does not give one worldwide release time, so there is no reliable universal countdown to use here.

How TFT numbers and spaces its updates

In the current system, the number before the decimal identifies the set and the number after it counts full patches within that set. Thus, 18.1 launches Set 18 and 18.2 is its second full patch. The count is not fixed at eight: Space Gods reached 17.9. Set 16 began before 2026, which is why this year’s calendar starts at 16.2.

TFT and League do not share patch numbers. Riot’s support calendar says their patches are bundled together, while TFT uses its set-based naming scheme. Compare dates with the League of Legends update calendar; don’t copy League’s version number into a TFT guide.

Most full patches are roughly two weeks apart. The 17.6 notes explicitly made that update three weeks long for Riot’s company break, with 17.7 due July 15. Thursday and Tuesday dates elsewhere in the calendar are exceptions to check individually, not a reason to invent a recurring alternative schedule.

B-patches, hotfixes and notes edits are not the same thing

A B-patch is an extra update associated with a full patch; 18.6B is unusual in already having its own calendar date. Riot can also add balance adjustments or urgent bug fixes to an existing notes page. A new dated section is not automatically a new numbered patch, and a typo correction to the article is not a game update.

Examples confirmed in Riot’s notes, separate from the scheduled calendar:

• 17.1B: Riot names a B-patch within the 17.1 notes. That section does not provide an unambiguous separate deployment date, so none is invented here.
• 17.4: the notes contain May 29 and June 1 mid-patch sections.
• 18.1: August 27, August 28, August 31 and September 1 sections document follow-up changes. August 31 includes balance changes; September 1 covers bugs and feel. These section dates are not a universal regional deployment timetable.

Riot also noted that an 18.1 particle-flushing performance fix was postponed to a future patch. A fix mentioned in a preview is not proof that it shipped.

Patch notes, PC deployment and mobile availability

The publication date on a patch-notes article can precede the live update. For example, Riot published the 18.1 notes on August 25, while the Set 18 launch date was August 26. Regional maintenance and the availability of a mobile download are separate events again.

The annual schedule is expressed in Pacific Time. Don’t convert it into an exact local hour unless Riot publishes a timed notice for your region. Check Riot’s service-status page, select the relevant game and region, and read the active maintenance or incident notice.

• PC: let the Riot Client finish downloading and applying the update before launching TFT. The 16.5 notes introduced direct TFT access through Riot Game Hub and a TFT desktop shortcut; a shortcut does not bypass the patcher.
• Android and iOS: the official store’s Update button and any additional in-game downloads are separate steps. If a friend can play but your store still shows Open, check for an update and the current service notice before assuming your installation is damaged.
• Timing limits: this calendar does not promise simultaneous availability on every device or a fixed app-store delay. A regional outage or a store rollout needs its own current notice.

Riot’s Unreal migration FAQ says existing mobile players receive the Enchanted Wilds transition by updating the app, with their account content retained. The larger engine transition also means an old download-size estimate is not useful: size depends on the update and files already installed.

Set launches are not ordinary balance patches

The year moves from Lore & Legends into Space Gods, then Enchanted Wilds. A new set can replace the champion and trait pool and change Ranked progression; a normal numbered balance patch should not be treated as an automatic rank reset.

Revival and alternate-mode updates also sit inside a patch cycle. Festival of Beasts returned during Lore & Legends, and Choncc’s Lore & Legends arrived with 17.7. Neither is counted as an additional main set or an extra full-patch row.

Riot’s migration FAQ separately announces October 9, 2026 for the dedicated TFT client. That is a client milestone, not another full-patch number: 18.4 remains scheduled for October 7. Check the announcement again nearer launch; do not infer a time or move the patch date to match it. Set 19’s 19.1 calendar entry is December 1, but unannounced mechanics do not belong in this schedule.

If the TFT update is missing or stuck

1. Check the date and region first. Read the official schedule and Riot status. Riot says a delay within 48 hours of a scheduled release will be flagged at the top of its calendar. A planned maintenance window is not something reinstalling can fix.
2. Finish or close the game safely. When you’re out of a match, close TFT and reopen its launcher or store. Let any active download complete before trying to queue.
3. On Android: open Google Play, tap your profile icon, choose Manage apps & device, then See details under Updates available. Select Update beside TFT. These are Google’s current update steps.
4. On iPhone or iPad: open the App Store, tap your photo or My Account, choose App Updates, then Update beside TFT. See Apple’s manual-update instructions if your device layout differs.
5. If downloading still fails: check your connection and available storage, then restart the device. Avoid repeatedly deleting and reinstalling the app while Riot reports an incident.
6. For damaged PC files: Riot’s supported repair path is Riot Client → profile icon → Settings → select the game → Repair. Follow the Riot Client repair instructions. If it fails, send Riot Support the exact error, platform, region and version rather than installing an unofficial repair tool.

Don’t disable security software, modify protected game files or download an unofficial APK to force an update. If the store has not released a compatible update to your device, use Riot’s support guidance instead.

How to confirm the version you are playing

1. Check the version or build label shown by your current TFT client or mobile loading/login screen, and record the full string when reporting an issue. App-store build identifiers are not always written like the balance-patch number.
2. Compare it with the latest entry in the TFT patch-notes list and any dated additions inside those notes. Don’t assume a B-patch requires an entirely new app-store listing.
3. If the client requires an update before you can queue, complete that update. For a confusing mismatch, include the full version label and a screenshot in your support ticket rather than guessing from the calendar.

When is the next TFT patch?

Patch 18.2 is scheduled for September 10, 2026. That is a date in Riot’s Pacific Time calendar, not a promised release hour for every server or app store.

Does TFT update every Wednesday?

No. Wednesday is the usual calendar day, but Riot lists exceptions and the spacing can change. Follow the dated table instead of adding 14 days to the last patch yourself.

Is Patch 17.9 the start of Enchanted Wilds?

No. Patch 17.9 belongs to Space Gods. Enchanted Wilds begins at 18.1, matching Set 18’s number.

Do I need to reinstall TFT for each patch?

Normally, you update the existing installation. Riot specifically says the mobile Enchanted Wilds engine transition arrives through an app update. Use official troubleshooting before considering a reinstall.
