
You cannot install or play VALORANT natively on macOS. Riot supports the PC version on 64-bit Windows, and its current requirements exclude ARM processors, virtual machines, and cloud gaming. That rules out a normal installation on Apple-silicon MacBooks and common Parallels, VMware, or CrossOver workarounds.

The current VALORANT PC specification lists Windows 10 and Windows 11, DirectX 11 support, and a processor with SSE 4.2 or AVX. It also says ARM processors are unsupported and that virtual machines and cloud gaming are not supported.
Those restrictions are about more than frame rate. VALORANT installs Riot Vanguard, an anti-cheat component that runs with the supported Windows environment. A MacBook can have enough CPU, memory, and graphics performance yet still fail because the operating system, processor architecture, or security state is not supported.

No supported route exists for Apple-silicon models. M-series MacBooks use ARM architecture, which Riot excludes from its current PC requirements. Apple’s Boot Camp documentation is also specifically for Intel-based Macs, so you cannot use Boot Camp to install the native x64 Windows version on an M-series model.
Parallels and similar tools may run Windows on ARM, but that combines two unsupported conditions for VALORANT: ARM and a virtual machine. Changing virtualization settings, turning off macOS security features, or downloading an unofficial Vanguard bypass does not convert that setup into a supported installation.
Boot Camp starts Windows directly on supported Intel Macs instead of running Windows inside macOS. That makes it fundamentally different from a virtual machine and is the only MacBook route that can potentially meet VALORANT's Windows requirement.
It is still a conditional, aging setup—not a promise that every Intel Mac can run the game. Before installing anything, verify all of the following:
Windows 11 introduces another compatibility hurdle: Riot requires TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot. Do not use a modified installer or registry workaround to bypass those checks. If the Mac cannot satisfy the security requirements that Windows and Vanguard enforce, stop there.
Back up important files and follow Apple’s Boot Camp documentation for your exact model. Do not disable macOS security, erase partitions manually, install modified Windows builds, or download repacked drivers from an unknown site. Partitioning and operating-system installation can cause data loss when done incorrectly.
Riot’s current PC requirements explicitly say VALORANT does not support virtual machines or cloud gaming. That means a guide should not present Parallels, VMware Fusion, UTM, a rented cloud PC, or an unofficial streaming catalog as a reliable route.
Remote desktop software can also add latency and may not pass mouse input as a competitive shooter expects. Riot does not publish it as a supported Mac client. If you already own a supported Windows PC, playing on that machine directly is the dependable option.
