Fugue, the upgraded version of Tingyun, has officially arrived in Honkai: Star Rail, and she brings a fresh twist to support roles with her new element and Nihility path. She’s built to elevate Break Effect teams by boosting their effectiveness and unlocking team comps that were previously harder to run—especially giving players more flexibility by freeing up the Harmony Trailblazer. But while her kit is strong, and she can fit nicely into niche setups, the real question is whether she’s worth your Stellar Jade. In this article, we’ll break down everything you need to know to help you decide if pulling for Fugue is the right move for your account.
Fugue is undeniably a strong support, especially if you’re leaning into Break Effect teams. Her core strength lies in her ability to enable double Breaks through the Exo Toughness mechanic, which essentially lets allies deal Break damage twice in a row. On top of that, she passively reduces enemy DEF and can trigger a Super Break just by being on the field. For characters like Boothill, Rappa, and Firefly, she’s a near-perfect match, unlocking insane damage potential.
However, her usefulness sharply drops outside of Break-oriented comps. Fugue’s buffs are narrowly focused on Break Effect and Break Damage, which makes her a bad fit for standard DPS units built around CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG. So, while Break teams are currently dominating the meta, there’s a risk in investing too heavily now. With Version 3.0 expected to pivot the meta toward Remembrance and summon-based teams, there’s a real chance that Fugue’s niche may be short-lived. If your roster is Break-heavy, she’s a great pick. But if you’re looking for long-term, flexible support, you may want to think twice.
Whether you should pull for Fugue really comes down to your current team setup. If you already have a strong Break team built around units like Firefly, Boothill, or Rappa, then Fugue is a fantastic pickup. She’ll boost your team’s damage output significantly and make tough content like Memory of Chaos feel much more manageable. Her synergy with Break-focused characters is what makes her shine.
But if you’re lacking a proper Break Effect DPS or your roster leans more toward CRIT-based or generalist teams—especially if you already have units like Ruan Mei or Lingsha—then Fugue might not be the best use of your Stellar Jade right now. While she’s undeniably strong, she’s also very niche, and with the meta shifting toward Remembrance and summon-based playstyles in upcoming versions, she may fall out of relevance sooner than later.
So here’s the simple verdict:
• Got a solid Break team? → Pull.
• Don’t have one? → Skip.
Personally, I’ll be saving my pulls and looking ahead to future banners—especially with more Remembrance units on the horizon that might offer broader value.
In the end, whether or not you should pull for Fugue really depends on your current roster and how invested you are in Break Effect teams. She’s an incredibly powerful and unique support for that specific playstyle, offering DEF shred, Super Break potential, and overall huge damage boosts to the right allies. But outside of that niche, her usefulness drops off. If you love playing Break teams or already have strong characters like Boothill or Firefly, then Fugue is a great investment. Otherwise, you may be better off saving your Stellar Jade for a more versatile support in the near future.
