FragPunk delivers fast, action-packed gunfights with a unique twist thanks to its Shard Card system, but it doesn’t always follow the traditional movement rules you’d expect from a modern FPS. One move many players look for—sliding—isn’t available by default, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely off the table.
Sliding in FragPunk requires specific conditions or abilities tied to certain Lancers or Shard Cards. While the game doesn’t offer universal slide mechanics like other shooters, there are still a few ways you can slide to boost your mobility and catch opponents off guard. In this guide, we’ll break down every method currently available so you can take full advantage of sliding when the opportunity comes. Let’s dive in.
Unlike standard movement options like sprinting or crouching, sliding in FragPunk isn’t something every player can do by default. You won’t find it tied to a basic keybind—sliding requires specific conditions tied to certain Lancers or Shard Cards.
The main way to slide is by choosing Axon as your Lancer. His special Electric Guitar ability not only packs a punch but also allows him to slide mid-combat when you hold the crouch button while sprinting. It’s a unique mechanic built into his kit and can give you a serious edge in close-range fights.
Another way to activate sliding is through the Frozen Wasteland Shard Card. This card temporarily enables sliding for all players when played, giving everyone access to this high-mobility movement for the duration of the round.
So, while sliding isn’t part of your default toolkit, with the right setup, you can still use it to your advantage and outmaneuver your enemies.
Sliding isn’t something every Lancer can do in FragPunk, but Axon is one of the few who has this ability built into his kit. His skill Electric Guitar not only equips him with a high-damage, shotgun-style weapon—it also unlocks the ability to slide during its use.
To pull it off, you’ll first need to unlock Axon, as he isn’t part of the starting roster. You can grab him for 18,888 Gold or 488 FragPunk Coins.
Once you’re in a match as Axon, activate his Electric Guitar ability. While it’s active, just sprint and press CTRL to initiate a slide. This move can be great for dodging bullets, flanking enemies, or sliding into close-range fights. Also, keep in mind: getting eliminations while using Electric Guitar extends its duration, letting you stay aggressive and mobile for longer.
If you’re not playing as Axon but still want to slide around the battlefield, there’s a workaround—the Frozen Wasteland Shard Card. When activated, this card transforms the map into a snowy arena and enables the slide mechanic for everyone, no matter which Lancer you’re using.
To use it, simply equip the Frozen Wasteland card before the round starts and activate it during gameplay. Once it’s live, you’ll be able to slide by sprinting (Shift) and then pressing the crouch key (CTRL)—the same input as Axon’s slide.
Keep in mind, though, that this card affects the entire match, so all players—including the enemy team—will also have access to sliding while the effect is active.
Sliding can be a powerful move to dodge gunfire or reposition quickly, but don’t rely on it too heavily. It’s best used as a tactical tool alongside your Lancer’s abilities rather than a constant go-to. Use it smart, and it might just be the edge you need to win the fight.
Sliding in FragPunk isn’t a default move, but with the right setup, it can give you a serious edge in battle. Whether you’re using Axon’s Electric Guitar or activating the Frozen Wasteland Shard Card, mastering the slide mechanic can help you dodge shots, close gaps, or reposition quickly. It’s a small trick that can make a big difference—just be sure to use it wisely and mix it in with your other abilities for the best results.
