Fortnite Hunters has shaken things up with a brand-new chapter, bringing a fresh Battle Royale map inspired by Japanese mythology, powerful new weapons like the Typhoon Blade, and a big focus on movement. This season isn’t just about aim and loot anymore — how you move around the map can completely change how fights play out. Alongside mechanics like Ledge Jumping and Roll Landing, Epic has added two advanced movement techniques that give skilled players a real edge: Wall Kick and Wall Scramble. These mechanics let you climb higher, reposition faster, and escape or push enemies in ways that weren’t possible before. In this guide, we’ll break down exactly how Wall Kick and Wall Scramble work in Fortnite, how to perform them consistently, and why learning them can seriously improve your gameplay.

Wall Kicking is one of the most underrated movement tricks added to Fortnite, but once you start using it, it can completely change how you move around the map. This mechanic lets you bounce off walls to quickly shift direction, gain extra height, or keep your momentum without touching the ground, which is perfect for chasing enemies or escaping tight situations.
To pull off a Wall Kick, make sure there’s a wall on either your left or right side, then jump toward it. The moment you make contact with the wall, press the jump button again. If timed correctly, your character will kick off the surface and launch in a new direction. With a bit of practice, this becomes very smooth and reliable.
What makes Wall Kicks even more powerful is that they can be chained together. If two walls are close enough, you can bounce back and forth between them to climb higher or cover long gaps without falling. You can also slightly adjust your movement by holding forward or backward while kicking off the wall, giving you more control over where you land. Mastering Wall Kicks gives you a huge mobility edge and opens up creative ways to outplay opponents in fights.

Wall Scramble is a movement mechanic designed to help players climb higher surfaces and reach ledges that would normally be impossible to grab. It’s especially useful in tight fights, fast rotations, or when you need quick access to rooftops, builds, or elevated loot spots.
To perform a Wall Scramble in Fortnite, start by sprinting directly toward a wall and jump into it. As soon as your character makes contact, hold the jump button instead of tapping it. Your character will begin scrambling upward along the wall, allowing you to gain extra height. From there, you can immediately mantle onto a ledge or platform if one is within reach.
This mechanic makes it possible to climb walls that are roughly two tiles high when combined with mantling, giving players far more vertical freedom than in previous seasons. Wall Scramble also pairs perfectly with Wall Kicks and Ledge Jumps, letting skilled players chain movements together to keep momentum, reposition quickly, or catch enemies off guard. Mastering this technique can make a huge difference in mobility, especially during close-quarters fights or fast-paced rotations.
Wall Kick and Wall Scramble add a whole new layer to movement in Fortnite, giving players more freedom, speed, and creative options in fights and rotations. Once you get the timing down, these mechanics make it much easier to climb structures, escape bad situations, and surprise enemies from unexpected angles. Whether you’re chaining Wall Kicks to keep momentum or using Wall Scramble to reach higher ledges and builds, mastering these moves can give you a real edge in matches. With a bit of practice, they’ll start to feel natural and quickly become part of your regular playstyle, helping you move smarter and stay one step ahead in Fortnite.
