Separate the grind: Career XP advances the 1–55 level track and Prestige, Weapon XP unlocks attachments and Weapon Prestige, and Battle Pass progression uses its own system. Stack daily and weekly challenges with objective play, then use tokens only when you can play uninterrupted.
Know which progression track you are leveling
| Track | What advances it | Main reward |
|---|---|---|
| Career level | XP across Co-op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies and integrated Warzone | Level 1–55 unlocks and Prestige access |
| Weapon level | Using that weapon and completing relevant challenges | Attachments and Weapon Prestige |
| Battle Pass | Current seasonal progression rules | Seasonal rewards |
| Prestige | Optional reset after Level 55, then repeated 1–55 climbs | Prestige rewards and eventual Prestige Master |
Fast legitimate Career XP
- Complete daily, weekly, event and Prestige challenges that overlap with the mode you already play.
- Play the objective: score, medals and match completion are more dependable than chasing low-value eliminations away from the team.
- Choose a mode you can finish consistently; quitting wastes match bonuses and challenge progress.
- Use Double Career XP tokens only when you have uninterrupted play time and no current server issue.
- Rotate modes when one set of challenges stalls rather than forcing a poor loadout for hours.
Level weapons without wasting Career XP
Select a weapon with several attachment or camo tasks that can progress together, then build the class around keeping it active. Weapon XP and Career XP are related during play but unlock different tracks. Objective modes create frequent engagements; Zombies and Co-op can offer steadier targets, while Multiplayer may finish mode-specific challenges faster.
Black Ops 7 retains weapon progression when you enter classic Prestige. Career level unlocks can relock unless permanently unlocked, so reserve the permanent unlock for a high-level item central to several classes.
Choosing Multiplayer, Zombies, Co-op or Warzone
Multiplayer is efficient when you score objectives and complete short matches. Zombies rewards long, reliable sessions but requires an extraction or end plan so the run does not consume a token with declining focus. Co-op Campaign contributes to global player level and can combine mission, enemy and collectible challenges. Warzone integration uses the connected progression system, but match length and queue time affect XP per hour.
There is no universal fastest mode. Compare XP over a complete hour including menus, failed runs and queue time—not one unusually strong match.
Prestige planning
At Level 55 you can choose Prestige, returning Career level to 1 and relocking level-track content while retaining weapon progress, builds, Operators, challenges, badges and customization described by Call of Duty. Ten Prestiges lead to Prestige Master, which extends beyond Level 55. Review the live confirmation screen before accepting the reset.
Use permanent unlocks on late-level equipment you use across several modes. Seasonal Store, Battle Pass, weekly and event items are not the same as base level unlocks and follow the current system described in the Career menu.
Methods to avoid
Do not use AFK farms, reverse boosting, bot-lobby sellers, account sharing, unauthorized tools or XP exploits. They can violate platform or Activision rules, distort matchmaking and put the account at risk. Double-XP schedules are time-sensitive; treat an event as active only when the in-game message or an official Call of Duty post gives a current date and time.
