
The best Apex Legends settings prioritize a stable frame time, clear enemy silhouettes, and predictable aim. On PC, start with fullscreen, native resolution, a 90–110 field of view, NVIDIA Reflex enabled on supported GPUs, and mostly low graphics. Use separate mouse and controller profiles: 800 DPI with moderate sensitivity is a practical mouse baseline, while 4-3 is a reliable controller starting point.

Start at 800 DPI and 1.5 in-game sensitivity, which equals 1,200 eDPI. The formula is DPI × in-game sensitivity. A useful testing range is roughly 960–1,440 eDPI: low enough for recoil corrections and tracking, but not so slow that a close-range turn requires multiple lifts.
Keep ADS Mouse Sensitivity Multiplier at 1.0 first. Per-optic values can correct a scope that feels unusually fast or slow, but changing every optic immediately makes aim diagnosis difficult. Adjust one setting, play several fights with the same weapons, and keep the change only if both tracking and target switching improve.

Choose Small Deadzone first. No Deadzone provides the fastest response but exposes even slight stick drift; Large can hide wear while making micro-aim sluggish. Set Movement Deadzone to Small unless the left stick moves your legend without input. Use Crouch on Hold for movement techniques only if the bind remains comfortable.
Use ALC only when the standard presets cannot solve a specific problem. ALC exposes yaw, pitch, extra turn, ramp-up, response curve, and deadzones; it also creates many ways to make horizontal and vertical aim inconsistent. Save a screenshot of the standard profile, change one ALC group at a time, and test hip fire before ADS.
EA confirms aim assist is automatic for supported controllers, works differently from mouse input, and is stronger in console-only contexts than controller-on-PC. Leave it at the platform default while tuning. It slows the reticle near targets; it does not select targets, compensate for bad centering, or remove recoil.
Use Fullscreen on a single-monitor competitive setup and the monitor's native aspect ratio and resolution. EA recommends native resolution, then lowering it only if the GPU cannot hold the chosen frame-rate target. Increase brightness slightly when dark interiors hide detail, but do not wash out the Ring or sky.

A stable cap is better than an uncapped counter that repeatedly swings between high and low values. Use the in-game Performance Display to watch FPS and ping. Cap at a value the PC holds during drops, smoke, ultimates, and endgame—not the firing range maximum. EA supports the +fps_max <value> launch option on PC.
