They avoid potentiometer contact wear, but no complete controller is immune to calibration, spring, firmware, or mechanical problems.
How many back buttons do you need?
Two are enough for jump and crouch/slide. Four or more help advanced binds but take longer to learn.
Is wired faster than wireless?
A good wired mode is simple and consistent. Quality 2.4GHz wireless can also be competitive; ordinary Bluetooth is not the first choice for minimum latency.
