Beam weapons are some of the strongest tools in Warframe, melting enemies in seconds with continuous damage. While weapons like the Kuva Nukor and Tenet Glaxion get most of the attention, the Synapse is an underrated Infested beam rifle that’s making a comeback—especially with the new Coda version. The Coda Synapse offers massive single-target damage, making it a serious boss-killer in today’s meta. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get the Synapse, explain what makes it special, and break down an optimized endgame build that shreds bosses and heavy targets with ease.
To get your hands on the standard Synapse, you’ll need to head to your clan’s Dojo and access the Bio Lab. The Synapse blueprint is available there once it’s been researched, but keep in mind that you must be part of a clan to access it. If joining a clan isn’t your thing, you can buy the weapon outright with Platinum or go after the much stronger Coda variant instead. The Coda Synapse is available from Eleanor in the Hollvania hub after you’ve finished “The Hex” quest. It costs 10 Live Heartcells, which you earn by defeating Technocyte Codas (Infested Liches). Once you’ve got the blueprint, here’s what you’ll need to craft it:
Synapse Crafting Requirements
• 5 Mutagen Mass
• 30,000 Salvage
• 3,500 Circuits
• 2 Forma
• 30,000 Credits
• Crafting Time: 24 Hours
The standard version is decent, but if you’re after serious damage potential, the Coda Synapse is definitely the version worth grinding for.
The Synapse is an Infested beam rifle that dishes out Corrosive damage by default, making it a solid pick against armored enemies right out of the gate. Its strength lies in its high fire rate and incredible critical stats, boasting a 40% crit chance and a 2.7x multiplier with the Coda variant. It fires a continuous beam with pinpoint accuracy, which makes it ideal for melting down single targets in seconds—especially when modded for crit.
While its base status chance is on the lower side (15% on Coda), the raw damage and crit scaling more than make up for it when used correctly. The Coda Synapse doesn’t add any new mechanics, but thanks to its progenitor damage bonus and slightly boosted stats, it’s a direct upgrade over the base version. It’s perfect for boss fights, high-level single-target bursts, or even handing off to On-Call crewmates in missions like Profit-Taker or Lich hunts. If you love fast-firing crit beams, the Coda Synapse absolutely deserves a spot in your arsenal.
For this Synapse build, we’re leaning all-in on single-target damage, stacking as much critical chance, critical damage, and raw elemental power as possible to melt tanky enemies. This beam rifle shines in boss fights and Steel Path missions where high HP targets are common. Since it doesn’t chain like the Kuva Nukor or Tenet Glaxion, we’re skipping multishot-focused mods and prioritizing mods that amplify direct-hit pressure instead. With a strong Viral or Corrosive setup depending on the faction, and key mods like Galvanized Scope, Vital Sense, and Primary Deadhead, the Synapse becomes a crit-heavy laser that absolutely shreds anything in its sights. If you’re building it for Railjack crew or Specters, consider swapping out Galvanized mods for flat bonuses to simplify performance, but for your own loadout, this build is all about pure burst.
The Synapse might not be the flashiest weapon in Warframe, but with the right build—especially the Coda variant—it becomes a laser-focused boss-melting machine. Its raw critical power, solid fire rate, and innate Corrosive damage make it perfect for tackling high-level enemies and armored targets. Whether you’re taking on Steel Path, hunting Liches, or just want a reliable beam rifle for single-target DPS, the Synapse absolutely holds its own when built right. Don’t sleep on this Infested classic—it still slaps hard with the right setup.
