Acquaint Fate vs Intertwined Fate
Both Fate types cost 160 Primogems, but they cannot be used interchangeably. If your goal is a limited character, converting Primogems into Acquaint Fates is the most common beginner mistake.

Best ways to get Wishes for free
There is no legitimate unlimited-Primogem method. The reliable approach is to combine repeatable income with one-time exploration and event rewards. Values vary by version, account progress and the content you can clear.
Daily Commissions and Encounter Points
Complete the four daily reward slots and claim the completion reward. Encounter Points can substitute eligible gameplay progress for commissions; the daily cap still applies.
Limited-time events
Version events are usually the largest time-limited free source. Check the Events Overview and complete the Primogem reward tiers before they close.
Quests and exploration
Archon, Story, World and Hangout content can award Primogems. Chests, puzzles, waypoints, achievements and regional offering systems add one-time income.
Endgame modes
Spiral Abyss, Imaginarium Theater and other current challenge cycles award Primogems according to performance. Do not spend more resources chasing a clear than the reward is worth.
Maintenance, mail and official codes
Version maintenance, special programs and occasional promotions can grant Primogems. Codes expire quickly, so use only HoYoverse's official redemption page or the in-game Settings menu.
Tutorials and achievements
Each payout is small, but unclaimed tutorials and easy achievement chains are useful when you are a few Primogems short of a pull.
Ways to get Fates directly
- Paimon's Bargains: the Stardust Exchange normally offers five Acquaint and five Intertwined Fates per monthly shop cycle. Confirm the remaining time in your region before planning around a reset.
- Battle Pass: the free track awards Acquaint Fates. The paid track adds Intertwined Fates and Primogems, but buying it is optional.
- Character ascension: claiming the relevant ascension rewards grants Acquaint Fates.
- Adventure Rank and regional systems: selected rank rewards, offering trees, fountains and similar progression tracks can award one or both Fate types.
- Limited login campaigns: major celebrations sometimes award Intertwined Fates. Treat these as announced bonuses, not guaranteed monthly income.
Masterless Starglitter can also buy Fates in Paimon's Bargains, but it can purchase rotating characters and weapons too. Check the shop before automatically spending it.
Paid ways to get more Wishes
Genesis Crystals convert to Primogems at a 1:1 ratio. Blessing of the Welkin Moon grants 300 Genesis Crystals immediately and 90 Primogems per login day for 30 days; a missed daily claim is not mailed later. The paid Battle Pass spreads rewards across level milestones and only pays out fully if you finish it.
If you choose to spend, set a fixed budget before opening the Wish screen. Regional prices, taxes and platform purchase rules vary. You can compare the site's Genshin Impact Genesis Crystal options, but paid currency never changes the drop probabilities shown in Wish Details.
An established roster is another starting point some players consider, but it is not required to Wish or play. If that option is relevant, inspect the listed server, platform links and inventory on the Genshin Impact accounts page rather than assuming every listing contains current-banner currency.

A 4-star or higher item is guaranteed within each ten Wishes. Pity resets when you receive the relevant rarity. Character Event Wish and Character Event Wish-2 share history with each other, but not with Weapon, Standard or Chronicled Wishes.
Capturing Radiance does not remove the ordinary guarantee after a lost promotional result. HoYoverse states that the consolidated chance for the promotional 5-star when you are not guaranteed is 55%, including Capturing Radiance. Your safest budget is still based on the hard ceiling, not an assumed “soft pity” result.
A practical Wish-saving plan
- Pick one target. Read the banner Details page, test the character when a trial is available and confirm you want the featured reward—not only the 4-stars.
- Check your own history. Count Wishes since the last 5-star on that banner type and note whether your next promotional character is guaranteed. In-game history displays a limited period, so keep a private count if you save for a long time.
- Keep Primogems unconverted until needed. This adds a confirmation step and reduces accidental spending on the wrong Fate.
- Collect expiring rewards first. Finish events and monthly shop exchanges before permanent quests or exploration.
- Stop at the planned result. Pulling for “pity” can give an early 5-star and reset your count. Every Wish has a chance to produce the top rarity.

How do you unlock Wishes?
Complete the early Mondstadt Archon Quest “Knights of Favonius” in Prologue: Act I. Most accounts reach this point around Adventure Rank 5.
Do single Wishes have worse odds than ten-pulls?
No. Ten-pulls are faster, but the underlying guarantee counts individual Wishes. Single pulls can be useful when you want to stop immediately after a target appears.
How many Primogems guarantee a limited 5-star character?
The absolute Character Event Wish ceiling is 28,800 Primogems from zero pity and no guarantee: up to 90 Wishes for the first 5-star and another 90 if that result is not promotional. Existing pity, a guarantee or an earlier pull lowers the cost.
Does pity carry to the next banner?
It carries to the next banner of the same type. Character Event Wish pity does not move to Weapon, Standard or Chronicled Wish. Epitomized Path and Chronicled Path Fate Points expire with their respective banner periods.
Can you transfer Wishes between accounts?
No. Primogems, Fates, pity and guarantees belong to the account on which they were earned or purchased.
