How Faker won each of his six Worlds titles
2013: a championship in his debut season
Faker's first Worlds run ended with SK Telecom T1 sweeping Royal Club 3–0 in Los Angeles. The victory established the teenage mid laner internationally and began the SKT dynasty.
2015: a dominant return
SKT did not qualify for Worlds 2014, but returned in 2015 and beat KOO Tigers 3–1. Top laner MaRin received Finals MVP, while Faker and substitute mid laner Easyhoon both contributed during the tournament.
2016: back-to-back titles
SKT defeated Samsung Galaxy 3–2 in a full five-game final. Faker earned Finals MVP, and SKT became the first organization to win Worlds in consecutive years.
2023: the fourth title after a seven-year gap
T1 swept Weibo Gaming 3–0 in Seoul. Zeus was Finals MVP, and Faker became the first player to win four Worlds titles.
2024: Faker's second Finals MVP
T1 beat Bilibili Gaming 3–2 in London. Faker was named Finals MVP after helping turn the deciding games, adding a fifth title to his record.
2025: the sixth title and a T1 three-peat
T1 defeated KT Rolster 3–2 in Chengdu on November 9, 2025. Gumayusi earned Finals MVP, and the victory completed T1's run of three consecutive championships from 2023 through 2025.
Faker's two Worlds final losses
Faker's first runner-up finish came in 2017, when Samsung Galaxy swept SKT 3–0 in Beijing. His second came in 2022, when DRX completed an underdog run by winning a five-game final in San Francisco.
Those losses are why “eight finals” and “six championships” are both correct. Reaching a final is an appearance record; winning it is a title.
Worlds championships are not the same as Faker's other trophies
The six-title answer counts only Riot's season-ending World Championship. Faker has also won domestic Korean titles and other international events, but those results should not be added to his Worlds total.
