Wild Rift has 850 alternate champion skins in Riot's public champion galleries as of August 26, 2026. Add the 141 champions' default appearances and the same gallery snapshot contains 991 entries. The useful answer is 850: a champion's base model is not normally what players mean when they ask how many skins are in Wild Rift.
Count last checked: August 26, 2026 · Wild Rift Patch 7.2c
850 skins excluding default champion appearances, or 991 official gallery entries when the 141 base appearances are included.
This is a reproducible snapshot, not a rounded estimate. Riot does not publish one permanent global skin counter, and new releases can change the number during a patch.
How many skins are in Wild Rift right now?
The current total is 850 alternate skins. We counted every non-default skin entry displayed across the 141 champion pages in Riot's official Wild Rift champion directory on August 26, 2026.
| Measure | Count | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Alternate skins | 850 | The normal player-facing answer |
| Default appearances | 141 | One base appearance per listed champion |
| All official gallery entries | 991 | Alternate skins plus default appearances |
What is included in the 850-skin count?
The count uses Riot's public Wild Rift champion galleries rather than adding up unsourced tier estimates. For each champion page, the default appearance was separated from every other gallery entry.
Included
- Standard alternate skins
- Wild Pass and ranked skins
- Prestige and Prestige Select entries
- Exquisite Editions and Mythic Chromas when Riot lists them as separate gallery entries
- Limited and event releases shown in the official gallery
Not included
- The 141 default champion appearances
- Ordinary chroma color options that lack a separate gallery entry
- Skin poses, borders, icons, emotes, baubles, recalls, or other accessories
- Unreleased concepts and leaks
This method also explains why different websites show different totals. Some count base appearances, chromas, or announced-but-unreleased cosmetics; others exclude standalone premium variants. A number without its counting rules is difficult to audit.
As a quick catalog check, Riot's gallery showed 17 total entries each for Lux and Master Yi, including their default appearances. Ezreal had 16 and Yasuo had 15. These examples are not a rarity ranking; they simply show how unevenly skins are distributed between champions.
Wild Rift skin tiers and special variants
Wild Rift does not reduce every cosmetic to one clean rarity ladder. A skin's store price, production scope and acquisition method can overlap, while event-exclusive variants may use systems outside the normal shop.
| Label | Typical distinction | Counting note |
|---|---|---|
| Standard / lower-price skins | Mostly visual model and texture changes | One skin entry |
| Epic | Usually broader model, VFX, SFX and recall changes | One skin entry |
| Legendary | A larger presentation overhaul, often including additional animation or voice work | One skin entry |
| Prestige / Prestige Select | Premium standalone versions connected to another theme | Counted separately when Riot lists a distinct gallery entry |
| Mythic Chroma / Exquisite Edition | High-end variants with their own official presentation and acquisition path | Counted separately when displayed as its own skin |
| Ordinary chroma | A color variation tied to a parent skin | Excluded unless Riot promotes it to a separate gallery entry |
Tier labels do not guarantee availability. A less elaborate ranked reward can be harder to obtain than a permanent Legendary store skin. If scarcity is the question, use the separate guide to rare Wild Rift skins and verify the current return status before drawing conclusions.
How do you get skins in Wild Rift?
The acquisition method matters more than the tier name. Depending on the skin, legitimate routes can include the Wild Core store, Wild Pass tracks, ranked rewards, event shops, selection chests, Poro rewards, Hextech systems, or a later limited-time return.
- Open the champion's Skins page first. It shows the variants attached to that champion, but an entry in the gallery does not prove it is purchasable today.
- Check the in-client store or event page. Price, currency, region and remaining availability are time-sensitive.
- Read the reward rules before spending. Random chests, token shops and premium loot do not all guarantee a chosen skin.
- Avoid code sellers and “skin generators.” Riot does not require you to hand over credentials to redeem a legitimate in-client reward.
Players building a collection without paying for every release can compare the current legitimate free-skin methods. If you care more about art and effects than raw catalog size, our Wild Rift skin picks are a separate editorial list.
An established profile may already contain retired rewards or event cosmetics, so collectors sometimes compare the disclosed inventory on Wild Rift account listings. That does not make cosmetics transferable between Riot accounts, and any account transaction should be weighed against Riot's terms and recovery risks.
Wild Rift skin count FAQ
Are there 991 skins in Wild Rift?
There are 991 entries in the official champion galleries in our August 26 snapshot, but 141 are the champions' default appearances. Excluding those base models leaves 850 alternate skins.
Are chromas included?
Ordinary chromas are excluded when they are only color selections under a parent skin. A Mythic Chroma or similarly named premium variant is included when Riot displays it as its own gallery entry.
Does every Wild Rift skin come from League PC?
No. Wild Rift includes adaptations of shared League skin lines as well as skins and variants created for the mobile game.
Can every skin be bought right now?
No. Ranked rewards, Wild Pass releases, event skins and premium variants may be unavailable, region-dependent or limited to a rotating system. The gallery is a catalog, not a live stock list.
Why will the total change?
Riot adds skins during patches and may add a new champion's base appearance at the same time. This page records the date, patch and counting method so a future change can be checked instead of silently rounding the total.
Sources and update method
The total was calculated from Riot's official Wild Rift champion directory and each linked champion gallery. Patch freshness was checked against Wild Rift Patch 7.2c.
Update policy: recount the official galleries after major patches, state the snapshot date, and keep base appearances and ordinary chromas separate from alternate skins.
