GTA 6 PC System Requirements: Official Status & Estimates

Rockstar has not announced GTA 6 for PC, so there are no official GTA 6 PC system requirements, release date, download size or performance targets. Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Any PC specification list published before a PC announcement is an estimate, not a Rockstar requirement.

Official GTA 6 PC information right now

Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and Take-Two’s latest release schedule list only the two current-generation console platforms. PC retailer pages, benchmark videos and “Can You Run It?” tools cannot validate a version Rockstar has not announced.

GTA 6 PC planning estimates—not requirements

The table below is a hardware-planning range dated August 26, 2026. It is based on the current console baseline, Rockstar’s GTA V Enhanced requirements and the direction of recent open-world PC releases. It is not a leak, performance test or compatibility guarantee.

These rows deliberately avoid naming an exact CPU or GPU as “minimum.” A nominally newer graphics card can still be limited by VRAM, while an older high-end CPU may outperform a newer entry model. Official requirements also need target resolution, quality preset, frame rate and upscaling assumptions to be meaningful.

How large could the GTA 6 PC download be?

The official PC download size is unknown. Reserving 200–250GB on an SSD is sensible planning room, not a prediction that the launch build will occupy that exact amount. The download may be smaller than the final installed footprint, and updates can require temporary free space during unpacking.

Should you upgrade your PC for GTA 6 now?

Usually, no. Hardware prices and available parts can change before a PC version appears, and Rockstar may publish several performance tiers. If your current PC handles other demanding games acceptably, keep it until official requirements and independent benchmarks exist.

• Upgrade now only for games you can play now. Treat future GTA 6 support as a possible bonus.
• Prioritize an SSD and balanced platform. A powerful GPU cannot compensate for severe CPU, memory or storage bottlenecks.
• Do not trust fake benchmark videos. There is no public PC build to benchmark.
• Wait for tested settings. Minimum requirements only indicate a launch floor; they do not promise your preferred resolution or frame rate.

When will GTA 6 come to PC?

Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 PC date. The only confirmed launch is November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Past Rockstar games have reached PC after their console versions, but previous gaps do not create a reliable countdown for GTA 6.

Watch Rockstar’s Newswire and support pages. A legitimate PC announcement should name the platform, storefront or launcher, release timing and preorder details; a social post with only a date or specification graphic is not enough.

GTA 6 PC requirements FAQ

Can an RTX 3060 run GTA 6?

No one can verify that yet. Rockstar lists an RTX 3060 8GB as a recommended GPU for GTA V Enhanced, but GTA 6 is a different game without a public PC build or official targets.

Will GTA 6 require an SSD?

An SSD is a sensible expectation for a current-generation open-world game, and GTA V Enhanced already requires one. Rockstar has not confirmed the GTA 6 PC storage type.

Is 16GB RAM enough?

It may be, but there is no guarantee. Keep 16GB if it serves your current games; choose 32GB for a new general-purpose gaming build when the budget allows, not because GTA 6 officially requires it.

Are PC preorders available?

No official PC edition or PC preorder is listed. Avoid keys, deposits and “early access” offers for an unannounced version.
