Varesa has finally made her debut in Genshin Impact, and while her arrival has stirred up a lot of opinions, there’s no denying that she brings something fresh to the game. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the direction miHoYo chose for her design or marketing, and it’s hard to ignore the sense that she was made with more than just gameplay in mind. That said, putting personal opinions aside, many players are now asking the real question—should you pull for Varesa? In this article, we’ll break down her strengths, weaknesses, and whether she’s actually worth your Primogems. Let’s dive in.
Varesa is solid—not broken, but not bad either. She sits comfortably in the middle when it comes to DPS potential and actually ranks fairly high among Electro damage dealers. Her playstyle is built around Plunge Attacks, which isn’t exactly common in Genshin, and that alone makes her feel unique. The only real issue is that she doesn’t have a ton of support options tailored to her kit right now—though Iansan is a perfect match and helps her shine, especially if you’ve unlocked a few of her constellations.
Despite how complicated her abilities might look at first glance, Varesa is actually super easy to play. You’ll mainly be pressing her skill, doing a Charged Attack, then spamming her normal attacks. That’s about it. It’s a low-effort rotation that can still dish out good damage. If you enjoy a fast-paced, aggressive style with lots of aerial slams, Varesa might just be your kind of fun.
So, should you pull for Varesa? The answer depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re not vibing with her personality, design, or playstyle, then it’s probably best to skip. DPS units tend to fall off faster than supports or utility characters, and unless you’re missing a solid Electro DPS or just really like Varesa for personal reasons, she’s not a must-have.
She’s solid, but not game-breaking. She’s not reaching Neuvillette-level damage or bringing the kind of team value someone like Furina or Nahida does. But if you like how she plays, enjoy her animations, or just want to try something different with a plunge-focused Electro kit, then go for it. Just be aware it’ll take around 140 wishes if you’re going all-in, so make sure you’re okay with the cost before you commit.
Varesa is a fun and stylish addition to Genshin Impact, but she’s not a must-pull for everyone. Her plunge-based Electro kit is unique and works well with the right support like Iansan, but outside of that niche, she doesn’t bring anything groundbreaking. If you’re a fan of her design or you just want to try a new playstyle, she’s definitely worth the pull. But if you’re low on Primogems or saving for stronger meta units, it might be smarter to hold off.
