FragPunk throws players into high-stakes 5v5 battles where quick thinking and strategy matter just as much as raw aim. With a lineup of Lancers each bringing their own abilities to the fight, it’s not just about shooting—it’s about playing smart. One thing that might surprise new players is the lack of passive healing. Unlike other shooters where your health slowly comes back on its own, in FragPunk, staying alive means you’ll need to take action. In this guide, we’ll break down exactly how healing works in FragPunk and how to keep yourself in the fight longer.
While most players in FragPunk rely on Medkits to recover health, there’s one Lancer who brings her own form of healing to the fight—Pathojen. Her first skill, Emotional Rescue, lets her toss a biotech device that creates a healing zone on the ground. Anyone standing inside the field, including Pathojen herself and her teammates, will slowly regain health over time. It’s an incredibly useful ability for holding key areas or retreating safely after a tough engagement. Emotional Rescue comes with two charges per life, giving players multiple chances to reset and stay in the fight longer without relying on random Medkit drops.
Another great way to heal in FragPunk is by using specific Shard Cards. These cards are part of the game’s core system, offering different effects that can shift the momentum of a match. Some Shard Cards focus specifically on healing or boosting survivability, making them incredibly useful if you want to stay in the fight longer or support your team. However, using these cards depends on your team’s Shard Point pool, and you only get a limited selection each round, so healing effects aren’t guaranteed.
Here’s a quick look at the healing-related Shard Cards currently available:
• Health Club – Raises your maximum HP by 25.
• Cure Shot – Allows you to shoot allies to heal them.
• Beauty Sleep – Sleep to slowly recover health.
• Regenerative Therapy – Grants slow, passive HP regen.
• King of Eggs – Crouch for 10 seconds to lay an egg that teammates can eat to heal.
• Dr. Converter – Heals nearby teammates while you’re carrying the Converter.
• HUD Remix – Swaps your HP bar with another Lancer’s.
• Vampire Night – Deals lifesteal and passive regen based on damage dealt.
• Squat Master – Each crouch slightly raises your max HP.
• Whetstone – Melee attacks (even on teammates) restore health.
• Holistic Deadicine – Regains HP with each kill (power scales with Shard Points).
• Vampire Bullet – Restores HP based on damage dealt with bullets.
• Morale Booster – Fully restores HP and skills after the Converter is planted.
• Maximum Overhealth – Heals up to 25 more HP beyond your max.
• Skill Vampire – Converts 100% of skill damage dealt into healing.
• Smoke Shields – Grants extra max HP while inside smoke.
• Superhuman – Enhances healing and damage resistance from skills.
• Band-Aid Solution – Heals a little HP every time you take damage.
• Hold The Pass – Stand on the bridge to rapidly heal.
• Heavy Armor – Gives a random ally bonus HP (but reduces their damage).
• Healing Site A/B – Creates healing zones at either plant site when the Converter is activated.
These cards add another layer to healing in FragPunk, letting you adapt your playstyle with the right strategy when they appear.
Another way to recover health in FragPunk is by equipping the Oasis Guardian Relic. This is currently the only Relic in the game that offers passive healing, and it’s a great option for players who want to slowly regain HP throughout a match. The effect kicks in once your team has successfully activated all three Shard Cards in a round. That means you won’t see the benefit right away, but in the later stages of a match, it can give you a steady edge.
To make use of this Relic, you’ll need to select Oasis Guardian as your active Relic during the rule selection phase. While the healing isn’t instant or rapid, it’s perfect for sustaining yourself in longer fights and can help reduce your reliance on Medkits or healing Shard Cards. If you’re playing a slower, more tactical role or just want some backup healing, it’s a solid pick.
Healing in FragPunk isn’t as straightforward as it is in other shooters, but once you understand your options, staying alive becomes a lot easier. Whether you’re grabbing Medkits, using Pathojen’s healing skill, activating healing-focused Shard Cards, or equipping the Oasis Guardian Relic, there are plenty of ways to recover health and keep fighting. Learn how each method works and choose the one that fits your playstyle best to gain the upper hand in every match.
