Fast Renown route by region
- Activate nearby waypoints and reveal unexplored map sections while traveling.
- Collect Altars of Lilith on the same route; do not zigzag across a region for one distant pickup.
- Clear Strongholds early because they award substantial progress and can unlock hubs, waypoints or dungeons.
- Stack side quests whose objectives share a dungeon or subregion.
- Use first-time dungeon completions to combine Renown with Aspect unlocks that help your build.
What carries over
Renown is tracked separately for each region. The reward row distinguishes character-facing gold from durable realm-wide unlocks such as skill points, potion capacity, maximum Obols and Paragon points. Blizzard has changed seasonal transfer rules over time, so check the reward panel on the realm you are actually playing instead of assuming an old season guide still applies.
Avoid slow Renown farming
Do not clear every cellar, repeat completed dungeons for Renown, or ride past a Stronghold to collect tiny exploration increments. Mark incomplete activities in one region, finish the highest-value cluster, claim the tier rewards, then move on.
Efficient Renown on alts and new seasons
Before repeating anything, open the regional Renown panel on the new character. Account-wide rewards already claimed should be visible even when the character’s local gold row is not. Revisit activities only for XP, loot, an Aspect or a quest—not because an old checklist says every alt needs five full regional grinds.
A practical session is 30–45 minutes in one compact subregion: take the waypoint, clear the Stronghold or dungeon, complete two nearby quests, and grab exploration or Altars on the path. This reduces travel and makes unfinished objectives easy to resume.
