The Cold Snap event has landed in Arc Raiders, bringing icy conditions, new cosmetic rewards, and another material-driven challenge to grind through. This time, players are working on the Flickering Flames project, which functions a lot like previous Expedition Projects by asking you to track down and donate specific items found during raids. One of the earliest roadblocks for many players is Candle Holders, an uncommon material that most of us probably ignored or sold in the past without thinking twice. Now that you suddenly need three of them to progress, they’re a lot more valuable than they look. In this guide, we’ll break down exactly where to find Candle Holders in Arc Raiders and how to get them as efficiently as possible during the Flickering Flames event.

If you’re hunting for Candle Holders in Arc Raiders, the most important thing to know is where not to waste your time. Candle Holders are tied to Residential loot pools, so your best odds come from points of interest marked with the residential icon. These areas consistently spawn household items, which is exactly where Candle Holders show up. The most reliable locations are Village on The Blue Gate, Grandioso Apartments in Buried City, and the Ruby Residence along with Pale Apartments on Dam Battlegrounds.
Out of all of these, Village on The Blue Gate is easily the best option. It’s packed with multi-story apartment buildings, each filled with rooms you can fully loot, which gives you far more chances per run compared to smaller residential zones. In a single raid, it’s completely possible to find multiple Candle Holders just by clearing a few buildings. Focus on searching dressers, cabinets, suitcases, and storage containers, as these are the most consistent spawn points for residential materials. Make sure you check every floor, since each building usually has more than one apartment.
If Village feels too busy or contested, Grandioso Apartments is a strong second choice. It’s smaller, but the surrounding southern area of Buried City is heavily residential, letting you bounce between houses fairly quickly. Just keep in mind that Buried City tends to be more PvP-heavy, so you’ll need to stay alert while looting.
For a quieter and safer run, Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments on Dam Battlegrounds are excellent alternatives. Located northwest of the Hydroponic Dome Complex, this area is much less active, making it ideal if you want to grab what you need and extract without running into other players. Each building contains multiple apartments, and while the loot density isn’t as high as Village, the lower risk makes it worthwhile.
You only need three Candle Holders to complete the Flickering Flames project, so once you’ve secured those, you’re done. Any extras you pick up can safely be sold or dismantled, since Candle Holders currently don’t have any other use beyond this event.
Finding Candle Holders in Arc Raiders doesn’t have to be frustrating once you know where to look. By focusing on Residential areas like Village on The Blue Gate, Grandioso Apartments, and the Ruby Residence on Dam Battlegrounds, you can dramatically increase your chances of finding all three you need for the Flickering Flames project in just a few runs. Prioritizing apartment buildings, checking every floor, and looting common household containers will save you time and reduce unnecessary risk. Once you’ve secured the required Candle Holders, you can move on with the event knowing you tackled one of its more easily overlooked material requirements the smart way.
