League of Legends
Eternals are a progression system in League of Legends designed to celebrate and track your personal milestones and achievements for specific champions. Introduced by Riot Games, Eternals allow players to showcase their mastery and unique playstyle with their favorite champions by keeping a record of in-game accomplishments and highlighting them in matches.
Eternals are champion-specific stat trackers that display your achievements in real-time during games. These achievements are often tied to key aspects of a champion’s gameplay, such as landing skill shots, securing kills, or using abilities effectively. They fall into two categories:
1. Common Eternals: These focus on general gameplay statistics that can apply to any champion, such as takedowns or damage dealt.
2. Unique Eternals: These are champion-specific and track stats or feats directly related to a champion’s abilities or playstyle. For example:
• Thresh: Souls collected with his passive.
• Jinx: Kills secured with her Super Mega Death Rocket.
Eternals can be unlocked in two ways:
• Eternals Capsules: Available for purchase in the in-game store using RP. These capsules contain sets of Eternals for specific champions.
• Crafting: Occasionally, players can earn Eternals through special events or by using crafting materials like Orange Essence.
• Real-Time Progress Display: During a match, when you achieve an Eternal milestone, an on-screen pop-up celebrates the accomplishment, adding flair to your gameplay.
• Mastery Flair: Eternals allow you to enhance your Champion Mastery emote with a unique flame effect after reaching certain milestones.
• Personalized Progress: They provide a new way to track and showcase your progress beyond the standard Champion Mastery system, emphasizing skill and dedication.
Eternals add an extra layer of personalization and pride for players who are deeply invested in their favorite champions. They’re not required for gameplay success but serve as a way to show off your skills and milestones.
Whether you’re looking to display your expertise or simply enjoy tracking your progress, Eternals offer a unique progression path tailored to League of Legends enthusiasts.
Upgrading Eternals in League of Legends is tied to progressing through the achievements tracked by your chosen Eternal set. Each Eternal tracks a specific stat or accomplishment, and as you reach milestones, the Eternal progresses, unlocking visual upgrades and rewards.
1. Unlock an Eternal Set:
• Purchase Eternal sets for specific champions from the in-game store using RP.
• Alternatively, acquire Eternals through event rewards, crafting, or promotions.
2. Equip the Eternal Set:
• After unlocking, equip the Eternal set in the Champion Loadout menu.
• Once equipped, the Eternals will begin tracking your in-game stats and milestones.
3. Achieve Milestones in Matches:
• Each Eternal tracks a specific stat or gameplay accomplishment (e.g., landing crowd control abilities, securing kills with specific skills, or collecting champion-specific resources).
• Play games with the equipped Eternal to earn milestones.
4. Reach Milestone Thresholds:
• Milestones are tiered, with each completed milestone contributing to the Eternal’s progression.
• Completing multiple milestones increases your Eternal’s level.
5. Unlock Visual Rewards:
• Achieving a certain number of milestones unlocks enhancements to your Champion Mastery Emote, adding flames or a more dynamic look.
• Milestones are also displayed on your profile and match history, showcasing your progress.
• Starter Series: Tracks universal stats like takedowns or objectives. Available for Blue Essence during special events.
• Series Sets: Includes unique, champion-specific Eternals that focus on iconic gameplay moments or abilities.
• Play Consistently: Focus on playing the champions you have Eternals for, ensuring that your achievements align with the Eternal’s tracked stats.
• Prioritize Unique Playstyles: Select champions whose playstyle you enjoy, as their Eternals will feel more rewarding to upgrade over time.
• Celebrate Milestones: Watch for the in-game pop-ups celebrating your milestones, adding flair to your matches and motivating you to achieve the next one.
Upgrading Eternals is a fun way to showcase your mastery and dedication to a champion. It’s not required for gameplay but offers an extra layer of customization and pride for your favorite picks.
Legacy Eternals in League of Legends refer to exclusive or retired Eternal sets that are no longer available for purchase through the in-game store. These Eternals were typically tied to specific events, promotions, or limited-time sales, making them rare collectibles for players who acquired them during their availability.
1. Limited Availability:
• Legacy Eternals were introduced as part of special events or as promotional items.
• Once the event or promotion ended, the Eternals were retired and became inaccessible to new buyers.
2. Unique Achievements:
• Similar to standard Eternals, Legacy Eternals track specific in-game milestones tied to a champion’s abilities or iconic gameplay mechanics.
• However, their exclusivity makes them a status symbol for players who own them.
3. Not Part of the Current Eternal Series:
• Unlike current Eternals, Legacy Eternals are not included in the regular series sets available in the store.
• This distinction sets them apart as collectibles rather than ongoing achievements.
4. Retention for Owners:
• Players who unlocked Legacy Eternals retain full access to their functionality, progress tracking, and associated rewards.
• Milestone progress is visible during games and on the profile, just like with standard Eternals.
• Unavailable in Store: Legacy Eternals cannot be found or purchased in the Eternals section of the client.
• Event or Promotion-Tied: Typically, they were obtainable through event passes, bundles, or as rewards during special celebrations.
• Exclusive Themes: Some Legacy Eternals may align with specific themes or champion releases, reflecting their unique origin.
Unfortunately, Legacy Eternals are no longer available unless Riot Games decides to reintroduce them through events or promotions. Players interested in Eternals should focus on currently available Eternal sets in the store or through event passes.
Owning a Legacy Eternal is a mark of dedication and participation in historical League of Legends events. It’s a way for players to showcase their involvement in the game’s journey and highlight their connection with specific champions or events.
Eternals are a feature in League of Legends that track specific in-game achievements for your champions, displaying progress and milestones during matches. While some players enjoy showcasing their accomplishments, others may find the pop-ups or display distracting. Luckily, Riot Games provides an option to turn off Eternals if you prefer not to see them.
1. Open the League of Legends Client:
• Launch the client and log into your account.
2. Go to the Settings Menu:
• Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the client to access the settings menu.
3. Navigate to the Interface Tab:
• In the settings menu, select the “Interface” tab on the left-hand side.
4. Locate the Eternals Display Option:
• Scroll down until you find the Eternals section. This option controls the display of Eternals milestones and progress during the game.
5. Disable Eternals Display:
• Uncheck the box next to “Show Eternals Milestones in Game” (or a similar setting, depending on your client’s version).
• This will stop Eternals progress and milestone pop-ups from appearing during matches.
6. Save Changes:
• Click “Apply” or “Save” to ensure your changes are implemented.
Additional Notes:
• Eternals Progress Still Tracks:
• Disabling the display does not stop the game from tracking your Eternal milestones. Your achievements will still be recorded and visible on your profile.
• Can Be Re-Enabled Anytime:
• If you want to turn Eternals back on, simply follow the same steps and re-enable the setting.
• To reduce distractions during matches.
• To maintain a cleaner interface, especially in high-stakes games.
• Personal preference if you don’t prioritize milestone tracking.
Disabling Eternals can make the gameplay experience more streamlined while keeping the option to revisit your progress whenever you like.
Eternals in League of Legends add a layer of personalization and achievement tracking, allowing players to showcase their mastery and milestones with their favorite champions. Whether you’re striving to climb the ranked ladder, flaunt your prowess in matches, or simply enjoy seeing your progress, Eternals provide an engaging way to celebrate your achievements.
For players who prefer a cleaner gameplay experience, Riot Games offers the option to turn off Eternals without affecting progress. With various categories like Starter, Series 1, and Legacy Eternals, there’s something for every player to explore and enjoy. Whether you embrace them for their bragging rights or prefer to keep them in the background, Eternals bring an extra layer of depth to League of Legends for those who seek it.
